Cashier

About the Opportunity Our client is a long-established heavy equipment sales and rental company in Ladyville. (GENTRAC).

They're looking for a careful, customer-focused Cashier to handle daily payments, cash reconciliation and customer account records. The company recently moved to SAP, so the role is a chance to get hands-on experience with an enterprise accounting system.

Key Responsibilities

• Take customer payments by cash, cheque, card, voucher, automatic debit and wire transfer
• Prepare receipts, refunds, credits and change accurately
• Balance cash floats at the end of each day and prepare bank deposits
• Keep customer records up to date
• Produce and print sales invoices in SAP
• Prepare and track equipment rental contracts
• Give every customer at the payment counter courteous, professional service

Requirements

• Associate degree, preferably in Business or Accounting. Solid relevant experience can replace the degree
• At least 2 years in cashiering, cash handling, accounts receivable or similar finance-support work
• Comfortable on a computer and able to use the main features of Microsoft Office: Excel (data entry, formulas, sorting and filtering), Word and Outlook
• Hands-on experience with at least one accounting program (QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, Peachtree or SAP)
• Able to provide a current police record if selected

Preferred

• SAP experience
• Experience with rental contracts, invoicing or customer accounts
